The E04 code indicates a control fault in the main control system of the cooktop. It displays as "E" on the cooking zone displays and "04" on the main 2-digit control display simultaneously. The fault can be caused by a power disruption, a wiring issue, or a problem with the main control board itself. Starting with a power reset is the recommended first step before pursuing further diagnosis.

Start by disconnecting the cooktop's electrical supply for at least one minute and then reconnecting it. If the error clears and does not return, no further action is needed. If the fault recurs, note the error code before disconnecting power and contact a qualified appliance technician to inspect the main control board and its wiring connections for damage, corrosion, or failure.

If a power reset resolves the issue, there is no repair cost.
