Electrolux Cooktop Error Code E39

E39 indicates a configuration mismatch between the User Interface board and one of the induction zone modules. This typically occurs after one of the two zone induction modules has been replaced. The cooktop locks out normal operation until the configuration is resolved through a key-sequence procedure or a hardware fix. It is not a component failure error in itself, but rather a pairing or registration failure.

A simple power reset by turning off the circuit breaker and restoring power is unlikely to permanently clear E39, because the underlying configuration mismatch will persist. The specific key-sequence reconfiguration procedure is required to properly register the induction module with the UI board. If the error returns after power cycling, the configuration routine must be completed.

If the error is resolved through the key-sequence reconfiguration procedure alone, there is no parts cost, though a technician service call to perform the procedure typically runs between $80 and $150 depending on your area. If the filter circuit board requires replacement, parts and labor combined can range from $150 to $350 or more. Replacing a full induction module would push costs higher, potentially into the $300 to $600 range.

Press and hold the WARM key, then press the Right Front zone ON key until you hear a beep. Continue holding the WARM key, release the Right Front zone ON key, and then press the Left Front zone ON key until you hear a second beep and the configuration process begins. If this does not clear the error, the filter circuit board inside the 3-zone induction module may need to be replaced.

The cooktop will not allow normal operation while E39 is active, so there is no immediate risk of unintended heating. The error is a protective lockout designed to prevent the unit from running with an unverified module configuration. Do not attempt to bypass the error, and complete the reconfiguration procedure before resuming use.
