Electrolux Cooktop Error Code E55

E55 indicates a break or open circuit in the temperature sensor for the right front induction element. The sensor is a resistive component that should measure approximately 1000 ohms at room temperature via the blue wires. When the generator circuit board cannot read a valid signal from this sensor, it shuts down the element and displays E55. The fault points to either the sensor itself, its wiring, or the generator board.

The right front element will not operate while E55 is active, as the cooktop has disabled it due to the sensor fault. The other elements may still function depending on the cooktop model. It is not advisable to attempt to bypass or ignore this fault, since the temperature sensor is a critical safety component that prevents the element from overheating.

Cycling power to the cooktop may temporarily clear the display, but E55 will return as soon as the generator board attempts to read the sensor again and detects the same fault. A power reset does not repair a broken sensor, damaged wiring, or a failed circuit board. The underlying hardware issue must be diagnosed and corrected before the error will stay cleared.

A knowledgeable DIYer comfortable working inside appliances can start by checking that the sensor's blue wires are firmly connected to the generator circuit board. Using a multimeter to measure the resistance across those wires at room temperature is the next step, with a reading near 1000 ohms indicating a good sensor.
