Frigidaire Oven Error Code F95

The F95 code means the door latch motor is not stopping when it should. The oven's electronic control board commands the motor to move the door latch to a locked or unlocked position, and when the motor fails to stop at that position, the F95 fault is triggered. This is most often related to a wiring issue, a failed door latch motor assembly, or a faulty electronic oven control board.

You should not attempt to run a self-clean cycle while the F95 code is active, as the door latch mechanism is not functioning correctly and the door may not lock or unlock properly. For standard baking, the risk depends on whether the door latch is interfering with normal door operation. It is best to resolve the fault before using the oven to avoid further damage to the latch motor or EOC.

Start by pressing the STOP key, then cut power to the oven for 30 seconds before restoring it. If the door motor still does not stop or F95 returns, inspect the wiring harness connecting the EOC to the door latch motor for loose connectors, breaks, or shorts. If the wiring is good, replace the EOC. If the problem continues after the EOC is replaced, the door latch motor assembly itself needs to be replaced.

Pressing the STOP key and then turning power off for 30 seconds is the recommended first step, and it may temporarily clear the code. However, if the door motor continues to run without stopping after power is restored, or if F95 returns, the underlying cause has not been resolved and further diagnosis is needed. A power reset alone will not fix a failed motor or a wiring fault.

Repair costs vary depending on which component has failed. A door latch motor assembly typically costs between $50 and $150 for the part alone, while an EOC replacement can range from $100 to $300 or more depending on the model. Adding professional labor will increase the total cost. If the fix is only a wiring repair, the cost may be significantly lower.
