There are three primary failure points associated with this code: a failed relay on the control board itself, a disconnected or damaged wire between the control board and the drain pump, or a defective drain pump motor. A relay failure on the board is often caused by electrical surges, overheating, or simple component fatigue over time. A wiring fault can result from vibration loosening connectors, pinched harnesses, or corrosion at the terminals. A failed pump motor may show physical signs such as a burnt smell, visible damage, or a seized impeller.

If connections are intact, test the pump motor for continuity and proper resistance.
