GE Dryer Error Code E00

E00 on a GE dryer is not a fault condition. It appears in Consumer Fault Code Mode to confirm that no active faults or stored fault events are present in the control board's memory. When a technician or advanced user accesses the fault code log through the diagnostic mode sequence, E00 is the system's way of reporting a clean log with nothing to investigate.

GE dryers with electronic control boards continuously monitor key systems including the motor circuit, thermistor inputs, door switch, and thermal limiter circuits. When any of these systems fall outside acceptable parameters, the control logs a fault code. E00 simply means none of those threshold conditions have been triggered and no codes have been stored since the last memory clear or since the unit was manufactured.

If E00 appears and the dryer is functioning normally, no further diagnostic action is needed. If E00 appears but the dryer is exhibiting a performance problem such as not heating, not tumbling, or not starting, the issue may be a mechanical or wiring fault that does not rise to the level of triggering an electronic fault code. In those cases, diagnosis should shift to manual component testing rather than relying on the fault code log.
