It is not recommended to continue operating the washer while error code 216 is active. A fault in the compressor motor inverter circuit can indicate an electrical problem that may worsen with continued use. Stopping use until the fault is diagnosed helps prevent potential further damage to the inverter board or motor.

A reset may temporarily clear the code, but if the underlying fault condition is still present, the code will return once the washer attempts to operate the compressor motor again.
