GE Washer Error Code EB1

EB1 means the washer has detected that the incoming power frequency is outside of acceptable limits. The control board monitors the AC frequency of the electrical supply and faults out when it falls beyond the expected range. This code typically points to a power supply issue rather than a problem with the washer itself. Diagnosis should begin with Test 15 in the GE diagnostic procedure.

You should not attempt to run the washer while the EB1 code is active. The fault exists to protect the washer's motor and electronics from operating under abnormal electrical conditions. Continuing to operate the machine with a compromised power supply could cause further damage to internal components.

If the issue is with the home's power supply or circuit, costs may be limited to an electrician's service call, typically ranging from $75 to $200 or more depending on the work needed.
