GE Washer Error Code EF2

EF2 on a GE washer means the machine has detected too much soap or excessive sudsing during the wash cycle. The control board monitors foam levels and triggers this code when suds exceed what the washer can safely process. This is not a mechanical fault. The fix is typically reducing the amount of detergent or switching to an HE-rated product.

Resetting the washer may clear the EF2 code temporarily, but the code will return if you continue using too much or the wrong type of detergent. The washer may also automatically attempt a suds-reduction rinse before completing the cycle. Address the root cause first, then restart the washer.
