GE Washer Error Code No Fill or Slow Fill

This error means the washer's control board detected that water either did not enter the tub at all or entered too slowly during the fill phase of a cycle. The machine stops the cycle as a protective measure to avoid running without adequate water. The cause can be anything from a closed supply valve to a failed inlet valve inside the machine.

It is not recommended to force the washer to continue operating when this error is active. Running a wash cycle without sufficient water can stress the motor and pump and may not clean laundry effectively. Address the root cause before running additional cycles.

If the fix involves only cleaning the inlet screens or adjusting a supply valve, there is essentially no cost. Replacing a water inlet valve typically costs between $25 and $80 for the part, with additional labor charges if a technician is hired. A pressure switch replacement is generally in the $15 to $50 range for the part. Total repair costs including labor can range from around $100 to $200 or more depending on the specific component and your location.

Start by checking that both the hot and cold water supply valves behind the washer are fully open and that the supply hoses are not kinked. Next, shut off the water, disconnect the hoses from the back of the washer, and inspect the small inlet screens for sediment buildup. Clean or replace the screens if they are clogged. If the water supply and screens are in good condition, the water inlet valve or pressure switch may need to be tested and replaced.

Resetting the washer by unplugging it for a minute or cycling the power may temporarily clear the error code, but the error will return if the underlying cause has not been corrected. A reset alone does not fix restricted water flow or a failed component. Diagnose and resolve the supply or hardware issue first.
