Code 9d41 means the oven control cannot determine whether the door latch is in the locked or unlocked position. The control monitors two position switches on the latch assembly, and when neither switch is active for more than 2 minutes, the fault is set. In self-clean mode, the heating elements are disabled as a safety measure until the latch issue is resolved.

Normal baking and broiling functions are not disabled by this code, only the self-clean cycle heating elements are shut down when the fault is active during clean mode. That said, you should not attempt to run a self-clean cycle while this code is present, as the latch is not confirming a secure locked position. Address the latch issue before using self-clean again.

Repair costs depend on which component has failed. A replacement door latch assembly including the motor and switches typically ranges from $80 to $200 for the part alone. If you hire a technician, total repair costs including labor generally fall between $150 and $350. A wiring harness repair or connector reseating is on the lower end, while a control board replacement would be at the higher end of the cost range.

Resetting does not repair the mechanical or electrical fault.

Start by inspecting the latch assembly for any visible obstructions, debris around the door hook, or a latch bolt that is visibly stuck in a middle position. Check the wiring harness connectors at the latch for loose or damaged pins. If the connectors are secure and there are no obstructions, the latch motor or position switches likely need to be tested with a multimeter and replaced if faulty. A control board issue is also possible but is a less common cause.
