Samsung Heat Pump Error Code E112

E112 indicates that the dual-pipe temperature sensor has an open or short circuit condition. The sensor is an NTC thermistor that monitors refrigerant temperature in the dual-pipe heat exchanger and feeds data to the main control board. When the board reads a resistance value outside the valid range for the operating temperature, it triggers E112. The system may restrict or shut down operation until the fault is resolved.

Continuing to operate the unit while E112 is active is not recommended. The dual-pipe sensor is used by the control board to make critical decisions about compressor operation and defrost cycles. Running the system without valid sensor data can result in inefficient operation or potential damage to refrigerant circuit components. Have the fault diagnosed and repaired before resuming normal use.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. If only reseating a connector is needed, the cost is limited to a service call fee, typically in the range of $75 to $150. Replacing the dual-pipe sensor itself generally costs $100 to $300 including parts and labor. A power reset may temporarily clear the E112 display if the fault was caused by a transient condition such as a momentary connector issue. However, if the underlying cause is a failed sensor, damaged wiring, or a loose connector, the error will return once the unit attempts normal operation. A reset should not be used as a substitute for proper diagnosis and repair.
