E207 indicates that the condenser outlet temperature sensor (COND OUT sensor) has been detected as separated or broken away from its mounting position during heating operation. The system monitors temperature differential conditions and triggers this code when the readings suggest sensor detachment has persisted for more than 20 minutes. The unit will limit or stop heating to prevent operating on faulty sensor data.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code, but if the underlying problem with the COND OUT sensor or its holder has not been corrected, the code will return once the unit runs in heating mode for 20 minutes and detects the same fault condition again. The root cause needs to be identified and corrected for the repair to be permanent.

If the fix is simply reseating the sensor in its holder, there may be no parts cost and only a service call fee, which typically ranges from 75 to 150 dollars depending on your location. If the COND OUT sensor needs to be replaced, parts and labor combined generally range from 150 to 400 dollars. A control board replacement, if required, would be at the higher end of the cost spectrum.

Start by checking whether the COND OUT sensor is fully seated in its sensor holder and that the holder itself is correctly attached to the unit. If the sensor appears secure, measure its resistance value to confirm it is within the expected range for the current temperature. If the sensor has failed or the holder is broken, the affected component will need to be replaced before normal operation can resume.

It is not recommended to continue running the unit while E207 is active. The error means the system cannot reliably monitor the condenser outlet temperature, which is essential for safe and efficient heating operation. Running the heat pump without accurate sensor feedback could result in improper refrigerant management or system stress over time.
