The refrigerator's cooling system will generally continue running with this code active, so food in the main compartment and freezer is typically not at immediate risk. However, ice maker function may be disrupted or disabled. It is best to address the fault promptly to avoid any secondary issues from unmonitored ice room temperatures.

A power reset may temporarily clear the 22E code, but it will return if the underlying fault is still present.
