Continuing to use the refrigerator with an active 5E error is not recommended. The defrost sensor is part of the cycle that prevents ice buildup on the evaporator. Without accurate sensor input, the defrost cycle may not function correctly, leading to reduced cooling and potential food spoilage over time.
