Samsung Washer Error Code 7E

The 7E code indicates a water level sensor software error. Specifically, the sensor's frequency output has gone above 30.0 kHz or below 15.0 kHz for more than 5 seconds, which is outside the range the control board expects. The washer stops operation to prevent incorrect water levels during the cycle. The fault points to a problem with the sensor itself, its wiring, or the air hose connected to it.

You should not continue running the washer while the 7E error is active. Because the machine cannot accurately measure the water level inside the drum, it risks either overfilling or underfilling, which could cause water damage or poor wash results. Stop use until the underlying sensor or wiring issue is diagnosed and repaired.

Pressing the Power key is the recommended first step and may temporarily clear the display. However, if the underlying problem with the water level sensor, its wiring, or the air hose is still present, the 7E code will return once the washer tries to operate and the frequency falls outside the 15.0 to 30.0 kHz range again. A reset alone is not a fix, only a starting point for diagnosis.

Some causes of the 7E error are DIY-friendly. Start by pressing the Power key to reset the washer, then check that all wiring connectors at the water level sensor are firmly seated. Also inspect the small air hose running from the sensor to the tub for kinks, cracks, or blockages. If the error persists after those checks, testing or replacing the water level sensor may be necessary, which requires moderate technical comfort.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. If the fix is simply reseating a loose connector or clearing a blocked hose, there may be no parts cost at all. A replacement water level sensor typically runs in the range of $20 to $60 for the part. If a control board replacement is needed, parts and labor can run considerably higher, often in the range of $150 to $350 or more depending on the model and service provider.
