The diagnostic process starts with checking the wire harness and connectors, then replacing the MEMS PBA, and finally replacing the main PBA if needed.

Running the washer while the 8CB1 code is active is not recommended. The MEMS PBA helps the machine monitor drum balance and motion, and without reliable data from that sensor, the washer may not manage spin cycles or vibration correction properly. Continued use could potentially lead to additional component stress or incomplete cycles.

A reset may temporarily clear the 8CB1 code, but the fault will return if the underlying wiring or hardware issue has not been resolved. To permanently clear the error, the disconnected or damaged wire harness must be repaired, or the faulty MEMS PBA or main PBA must be replaced. Resetting without addressing the root cause is not a long-term fix.
