E7 on a Samsung washer indicates a pressure switch error. The control board has detected an abnormal water level frequency signal, either at or below 30.00 KHz or at or above 15.00 KHz, for more than 5 seconds. In response, the washer runs the drain pump for 3 minutes and then shuts it off. The most common causes include a disconnected pressure switch hose, a faulty connector, or a defective pressure switch.

It is not recommended to continue using the washer while E7 is active. The error indicates the machine cannot reliably monitor the water level inside the tub, which could lead to overfilling or other operational problems. The washer is designed to stop normal operation and activate the drain pump when this fault is detected, and the underlying issue should be resolved before running a wash cycle.

Performing a reset by unplugging the washer for a few minutes may temporarily clear the E7 code, but if the underlying fault is still present the error will return once the machine attempts to detect the water level again. A reset is useful as part of the diagnostic process to confirm whether the issue is intermittent, but it does not fix the root cause. The pressure switch connection, air hose, and switch itself should be inspected and repaired to permanently resolve the fault.
