Samsung Washer Error Code TCD2

TCD2 indicates a temperature sensor fault in the wash/dry heater circuit of your Samsung washer. The code is triggered when the main control board receives a reading from the dry temperature sensor that is outside the expected range. It can also appear due to a faulty main PCB or freezing temperatures affecting sensor readings in cold environments.

You should not continue running the washer while TCD2 is active. The error indicates the control board cannot accurately monitor temperature during the drying cycle, which creates a risk of overheating. Stop the cycle, unplug the machine, and diagnose the fault before resuming use.

A reset may temporarily clear the TCD2 code, but it will return if the underlying fault has not been corrected. The one exception is if the code was triggered by freezing temperatures, where warming the laundry area and resetting the machine may fully resolve the issue. For sensor or wiring failures, the code will reappear until the defective component is repaired or replaced.

Start by checking the connector for the wash/dry heater temperature sensor. Make sure it is fully seated, free of corrosion, and undamaged. If the connector is fine, test the sensor itself for correct resistance and replace it if it has failed. If the sensor and wiring are both good, the main PCB may need to be inspected or replaced.

Repair costs vary depending on the cause. Fixing a loose connector costs nothing beyond your time. A replacement temperature sensor typically costs in the range of $15 to $50 for the part. If the main PCB is at fault, parts and labor can range from $150 to $400 or more depending on your model and service provider.
