Error code E43 on an Electrolux washer indicates a fault in the TRIAC circuit responsible for supplying power to the door delay system. A TRIAC is a semiconductor switching component on the main control board that controls when power is delivered to specific circuits. In this case, the TRIAC governs the door interlock delay mechanism, which is the system that keeps the door locked during and briefly after a wash cycle for safety reasons. When the control board detects an irregularity in this TRIAC's output or switching behavior, it throws the E43 code and may prevent the machine from operating.

The fault can originate in one of three areas: the wiring harness connecting the door interlock to the control board, the door safety interlock component itself, or the TRIAC on the main control board. Wiring issues such as broken connections, corroded terminals, or pinched wires are relatively common causes, especially in older machines. The door safety interlock, also called the door latch assembly, can fail mechanically or electrically, sending incorrect signals back to the control board.
