It is triggered when the fan motor is running and the Main PCB detects a feedback signal line contact error, a wiring separation, or an internal motor fault. The diagnostic process starts by checking voltage at Main PCB connector CN30 between pins 8 and 12, which should read between 0.8V and 4.1V under normal conditions.

The 16E error should be addressed promptly because it indicates the humidity management system inside the fridge compartment is not operating correctly. Continued use without repair could lead to improper temperature and humidity levels, potentially affecting food preservation. The fridge may still run, but its performance will be compromised until the fault is resolved.

A power reset may temporarily clear the 16E code, but the error will return if the underlying fault is still present. Because the code is triggered during fan motor operation, it will reappear as soon as the control board detects the same signal line problem again.
