Samsung Washer Error Code nH

The nH code means the washer has detected that the hot and cold water supply hoses are connected to the wrong inlet ports on the back of the machine. The washer monitors incoming water temperature and stops the cycle when it does not match what the control board expects. This is a connection issue, not an internal component failure. Correcting the hose connections will resolve the error.

The washer halts the cycle when nH appears, so it will not continue operating with reversed hose connections. It is safe to leave the machine as-is while you troubleshoot, but you should not attempt to force a cycle to run. Washing with reversed connections could result in incorrect water temperatures that damage fabrics or reduce cleaning effectiveness.

In most cases, fixing the nH error costs nothing because it only requires swapping the two supply hoses, which is a free DIY correction. If the hoses themselves are damaged, cracked, or need replacement, new inlet hoses typically cost between $10 and $30 at most hardware stores. If a professional technician is called to diagnose and reconnect the hoses, expect a service call fee in the range of $75 to $150.

Turn off both water supply valves behind the washer, then disconnect and swap the hot and cold hoses so each connects to the correct labeled inlet port. The hot water hose should go to the HOT inlet (usually marked in red) and the cold water hose to the COLD inlet. Turn the water back on, check for leaks, and restart the washer to clear the error.

A reset alone will not permanently clear the nH error because the washer will detect the reversed connections again as soon as it tries to fill with water. You need to physically correct the hot and cold hose connections before the code will stay cleared. Once the hoses are connected properly, the error should not return.
