Microwave Oven Magnetron Thermistor Open or Shorted - Open sensor occurs when temperature reading is >995°F (535°C); shorted sensor occurs when temperature reading is <-0.4°F (-18°C).

Unplug oven or disconnect power. Check connector P21 of microwave oven AM. Disconnect P21 and measure resistance of thermistor (should be 27.8 kΩ at 77°F/25°C).

From Tech Sheet W11941224, p.36:
1.Unplug oven or disconnect power. Check connector P21 of microwave oven AM. Disconnect P21 and measure resistance of thermistor (should be 27.8 kΩ at 77°F/25°C).
2.Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at the sensor body. Expected: 10 kΩ to 12 kΩ at 77°F (25°C).
3.Check the sensor harness for opens and shorts. Back-probe the sensor pins at the control board connector; a reading outside 5 kΩ to 50 kΩ indicates a failed sensor.
