F21 means the washer attempted to drain for more than 8 minutes without the pressure switch detecting that the tub was empty. The control board stops the cycle and stores the fault code to alert you that the drain system needs attention. Common causes include a clogged pump, a blocked or improperly routed drain hose, or excessive suds. In some cases the display will alternate between 'SudS' and a countdown before showing F21.

You should not run additional wash cycles until the F21 fault is resolved. The washer has stopped mid-cycle because water is not draining properly, and running it again risks water remaining in the drum, potential motor strain, and water sitting in the machine long enough to cause odor or mildew. Address the drain restriction first, then clear the code before resuming normal use.

If the fault is caused by a clogged pump or hose obstruction, the repair cost is typically just your time since no parts are needed. If the drain pump has failed and requires replacement, parts and labor costs generally range from around $150 to $350 depending on your location and the service provider. Clearing the error code by disconnecting power will remove the displayed fault, but it will not fix the underlying cause.
