Ld stands for Long Drain. It means the washer's control board detected that the drain pump ran for more than 5 minutes without the pressure switch resetting, indicating the tub did not empty within the expected time. The fault stops the cycle to prevent the pump from running indefinitely. It is almost always caused by a blockage in the pump, drain hose, or tub sump.

You should not continue running the washer once the Ld code appears. The machine stops the cycle specifically to prevent the pump from running dry or overheating. Continuing to force cycles could damage the pump motor. Resolve the drain obstruction before resuming normal use.

If the problem is simply a clogged pump filter or drain hose, the repair costs nothing beyond your time. If the drain pump needs to be replaced, parts typically range from $30 to $100 depending on the model, with professional labor adding $75 to $150 or more.
