When the code is steady, the washer is actively running a mini-cycle to correct the imbalance, which is a normal automated process and safe to let complete. If the code is flashing, the washer has stopped on its own and should not be forced through the spin cycle with an unbalanced load. Repeatedly running the machine in an unbalanced condition can accelerate wear on the suspension components and drum bearings over time.
