What E32 means on a AEG washer
The E32 error code on an AEG washer indicates an incongruence between the pressure sensor reading and the dry run protection circuit (protection circuit 1). This fault is only logged and displayed after the condition persists for more than 60 seconds, meaning a brief or intermittent signal mismatch will not trigger the code on its own. The pressure sensor is responsible for monitoring the water level inside the drum, and dry run protection monitors whether the machine is operating without sufficient water to protect the motor and heating element from damage.
When the pressure sensor output conflicts with what the dry run protection circuit expects, the machine's control board cannot reconcile the two signals. This can happen when the pressure sensor has failed and is reporting an incorrect water level, when the pressure chamber or connecting hose to the sensor is blocked or leaking, or when there is a wiring fault between the sensor and the control board. A failed sensor may output a signal that suggests the drum is empty even when water is present, or vice versa.
Because the first recommended diagnostic step is to replace the pressure sensor, sensor failure is considered the primary cause. However, before replacing the sensor, technicians should inspect the pressure hose for kinks, blockages, or cracks, and check all related wiring and connectors for continuity and secure connections. If the sensor and hose are intact and wiring checks out, the control board itself may be misinterpreting the signals, though this is a less common outcome.

Common causes of E32
- 01
Failed pressure sensor
Part replacementThe pressure sensor itself has malfunctioned and is sending a signal that conflicts with the dry run protection circuit. This is the most likely cause and is the first component recommended for replacement.
- 02
Blocked or kinked pressure hose
Wiring / connectionThe small rubber or plastic hose connecting the pressure chamber to the sensor can become blocked with detergent residue, kinked, or cracked. A compromised hose will cause inaccurate pressure readings and trigger this conflict.
- 03
Wiring fault or loose connector
Wiring / connectionA damaged wire or loose connector between the pressure sensor and the main control board can cause intermittent or incorrect signal transmission. Inspect the harness and connector pins for corrosion, damage, or poor seating.
- 04
Blocked pressure chamber
Wiring / connectionThe pressure chamber at the base of the tub can accumulate debris or soap buildup, preventing accurate pressure changes from reaching the sensor. Cleaning the chamber may restore correct sensor readings.
- 05
Control board fault
Part replacementIf the pressure sensor, hose, chamber, and wiring all check out correctly, the main control board may be misreading the incoming signals. This is the least common cause and typically only considered after all other components have been ruled out.
