The first thing to check is whether all four shipping bolts have been removed from the back of the machine, as these are a very common cause of this fault.

A reset may temporarily clear the E28 code, but it will return if the underlying cause is not resolved. Because the drive preserves non-zero speed information during the stop check stage, the control system is actively tracking the condition that triggered the fault. Removing the shipping bolts or correcting a load imbalance before resetting gives the best chance of clearing the code permanently.
