Maytag Washer Error Code d15/F34

The d15/F34 code means the washer detected laundry or another load inside the drum when the Washer Cleanout Cycle was started. This cycle is designed to run only with an empty drum, and the control system halts or prevents the cycle when it senses otherwise. Removing all items from the drum and restarting the cycle will resolve the error in most cases.

The d15/F34 error only applies to the Washer Cleanout Cycle and does not indicate a hazardous condition. Your washer should still be able to run normal wash cycles with laundry loaded. If the error appears during normal washing cycles or the washer will not operate at all, additional diagnosis may be needed.

In the majority of cases, the d15/F34 error requires no repair cost at all, since it is resolved simply by removing laundry from the drum. If a component like the motor control board or main control board is determined to be faulty and triggering the code incorrectly, repair costs could range from roughly $150 to $400 or more depending on parts and labor in your area.

Start by clearing the error code, then unplug the washer from the power outlet. Open the door and remove all clothing, towels, or other items from the drum, checking carefully around the door gasket and drum baffles for small trapped items. Plug the washer back in and restart the Washer Cleanout Cycle with the drum completely empty.

Clearing the error code and unplugging the washer will reset the fault, but the code will return if you attempt the Washer Cleanout Cycle again without first removing all items from the drum. The reset alone does not fix the underlying condition, so always empty the drum before restarting the cycle.
