Error code 7 means the refrigerator is in manual DC mode because it is not detecting a valid engine-running signal. The control board monitors the orange Engine Run wire for a voltage between 10.0V and 15.0V. When that voltage is absent or out of range, the unit displays "No Engine Running" and enters this fallback mode. This is a signal detection issue, not necessarily a refrigerator component failure.

The refrigerator remains operational in manual DC mode, so food safety is not an immediate concern as long as the unit is cooling normally. However, the unit is not operating in its intended mode, which may affect efficiency and performance over time. Diagnosing and correcting the engine-run signal issue is recommended before extended use.
