The A4 code means the refrigerator has been set to AC mode but is not detecting AC power at its input. The fault is external to the refrigerator's internal controls, so the problem is in the vehicle's electrical system or power source. Common causes include a blown fuse, a tripped breaker, or the absence of shore power or generator output.

The A4 code itself is not a hazard indicator. It simply means the selected power source is unavailable, and the refrigerator will not operate in AC mode until power is restored. However, if the cause is a repeatedly tripping breaker or a blown fuse that blows again after replacement, that pattern can indicate an overload or short circuit that should be diagnosed before further use.

Because the A4 fault points to an external electrical issue, repair costs vary widely depending on the cause. Replacing a blown fuse is typically inexpensive, often in the range of a few dollars to around $10 to $20 for the part. If the fault traces to damaged wiring or a failing connection that requires a technician to repair, labor and parts costs could range from $75 to $300 or more depending on the complexity of the repair and local service rates.

Start by checking the vehicle's fuse panel for a blown fuse on the refrigerator's AC circuit and replace it if necessary.
