The BC error code on a Samsung washer indicates a switch error, also called a Main Relay Error. It means the washer has detected that a button appears to be stuck, jammed, or held continuously for more than 30 seconds. Common causes include a deformed control panel, overtightened sub PBA screws, or a physically stuck button. The washer will not run normally until the underlying cause is identified and corrected.

A power reset may temporarily clear the BC error if it was triggered by a button being accidentally held down for more than 30 seconds. However, if the root cause is a physical problem such as a deformed panel component or overtightened board screws, the error will return after the reset. Always inspect for mechanical causes before assuming a reset has resolved the issue.

Repair costs vary depending on the cause. If only screw adjustment or physical realignment is needed, the cost may be limited to a service call fee, typically in the range of $75 to $150. If the control panel housing or sub PBA needs replacement, parts and labor combined can range from $150 to $350 or more depending on the model and local labor rates.
