The dE2 code means the washer detected that the door was pushed open or lost its locked position during a Boil wash cycle. This happens because the extreme heat inside the drum creates a pressure difference that can physically push on the door. The washer halts the cycle as a safety measure. It is specific to high-temperature wash cycles and is not the same as a standard door-open error.

You should not attempt to continue a Boil wash cycle after a dE2 error without first identifying and correcting the cause. The error exists to prevent the door from being forced open by steam pressure while the drum contains near-boiling water, which would be a serious burn hazard. Lower-temperature cycles may function normally in the meantime, but the underlying mechanical issue should be repaired before using the Boil wash setting again.

Repair costs depend on which component is at fault.
