Maytag Dryer Error Code F6 E1
Communication Failure Between ACU and UIC
Communication Failure Between ACU and UIC — electrical connection between ACU and UIC is damaged.
First step from the service manual
1
Verify that the communication cable between the ACU and UIC is connected and that there is continuity. If continuity test fails, replace the communication cable. If fault is still present, check for power to the ACU.
The complete diagnostic procedure includes additional test steps, resistance specifications, wiring diagram references, and component test points.

Communication Failure Between ACU and UIC —
From Tech Sheet W11956143, p.35:
1.Verify that the communication cable between the ACU and UIC is connected and that there is continuity. If continuity test fails, replace the communication cable. If fault is still present, check for power to the ACU.
2.Inspect the communication harness between the main control and the UI board for bent pins or unseated connectors at each end.
3.Measure supply voltage to the UI board. Expected: 5 VDC at the interface connector; a low or missing rail points back to the main control supply.
