The 9E2 code means the washer has detected an under-voltage or over-voltage condition in its power supply. The machine monitors incoming electrical voltage and will stop operation when the supply falls outside safe limits. This protects the control board and motor from damage caused by unstable power. The issue is most commonly related to the wall outlet, circuit conditions, or the use of an extension cord.

The error itself is a protective measure, meaning the washer has stopped running to prevent damage from abnormal voltage. However, the underlying cause can involve real electrical hazards such as a faulty outlet, loose wiring, or an overloaded circuit. It is advisable to have a qualified electrician inspect the outlet and circuit if the cause is not immediately obvious.

If the fix involves replacing or repairing the wall outlet or circuit, electrical work typically costs between $75 and $250 depending on the scope.
