E:32 on a Bosch dishwasher indicates that the drain pump is being overloaded, typically due to a restricted drain hose. The restriction forces the pump to work harder than normal, and the control board logs this as a fault. This code does not appear during a regular wash cycle and can only be retrieved by running the dishwasher's diagnostic test program.

A basic reset may temporarily clear the displayed fault, but if the underlying drain hose restriction is not resolved, the overload condition will return and the code will be logged again. The physical cause, whether a kink or clog in the drain hose, must be corrected before the error will stay cleared.

If the issue is simply a kinked hose, there may be no parts cost at all, just time to inspect and reposition the hose. A replacement drain hose typically costs in the range of $15 to $50 depending on the model. If the drain pump itself has been damaged by prolonged overload, pump replacement parts and labor can range from $100 to $250 or more.

Start by running the test program to confirm the E:32 code is stored. Then inspect the drain hose along its full length for any kinks and straighten them out.
