HE2 indicates the heating system is not functioning correctly, so running cycles that require heated water will not produce the intended results. The washer may still run cold-water cycles, but a sanitize or high-temperature wash cycle will not reach the target temperature. It is best to address the underlying issue before continuing regular use to avoid incomplete wash results.

The code is triggered by a condition the control board actively monitors during the heating cycle, so as soon as the washer runs another heated cycle and detects the same failure, it will display HE2 again. Clearing the code without repairing the fault is not a lasting solution.
