Samsung Washer Error Code 1C

The 1C code on a Samsung washer indicates a water level sensor error. The washer cannot accurately detect the amount of water in the drum, which prevents it from running a proper wash cycle. The cause can be a damaged, clogged, or disconnected air hose, a loose wiring terminal, a faulty sensor, or a Main PBA problem.

A reset may temporarily clear the 1C code, but the error will return if the underlying problem is not corrected. To reset, unplug the washer for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in. If the fault reappears immediately or on the next cycle, the physical cause must be diagnosed and repaired before the code will stay clear.

If the fix involves only reseating a hose or reconnecting a wiring terminal, there is no parts cost and the repair is free if done yourself. If the water level sensor needs replacement, parts typically range from $20 to $60 depending on the model. A Main PBA replacement is the most expensive scenario, with parts and labor costs potentially ranging from $150 to $350 or more.

Start by inspecting the air hose connected to the water level sensor for kinks, punctures, or disconnection at either end. Also check that the wiring terminal at the sensor is fully connected and free of corrosion. If the hose and connections are in good condition, the water level sensor or the Main PBA may need to be replaced, which typically requires a technician.

It is not recommended to continue running the washer while the 1C code is active. Because the machine cannot accurately measure the water level, there is a risk of overfilling or running a cycle without adequate water, which can damage the appliance or leave laundry improperly washed. Diagnose and repair the fault before resuming normal use.
