Samsung Washer Error Code BC2

BC2 is a switch check error triggered when the main control board detects that the power button has been continuously pressed for more than 12 seconds, or any other control panel button for more than 30 seconds. The washer interprets this as a stuck or jammed input signal and stops to prevent unintended operation. Common causes include a physically stuck button, a warped control panel, or over-tightened sub PBA screws.

A power cycle reset may temporarily clear the BC2 code, but if the underlying physical cause is still present, the error will return quickly. The code is triggered by a continuous hardware signal, so the stuck switch, panel deformation, or board flex must be corrected for the error to stay resolved. Resetting without addressing the cause is not a permanent fix.

If the issue is a deformed panel or over-tightened screws, the repair may cost little to nothing beyond a service call fee, as no parts are required. If a tact switch or the sub PBA needs replacement, parts and labor costs typically range from around $75 to $250 depending on your region and the specific board involved. A technician visit to diagnose and repair the fault generally falls in the $100 to $200 range for labor alone.

Start by pressing each button on the control panel to confirm they all spring back freely and none are stuck. Inspect the panel face for warping or deformation that could press against the switches. If the washer was recently serviced, check that the sub PBA mounting screws are not over-tightened, as excess torque can flex the board and activate switches. If a specific switch is faulty, the sub PBA will need to be replaced.

The washer will typically halt operation when BC2 is active, preventing normal use. Attempting to force a cycle while the control board is detecting a faulty switch signal is not recommended, as the input controls may not respond predictably. Address the physical cause of the fault before running the machine again.
