The controller waits for an end-of-cycle signal from the gearbox and, when that signal never arrives, it registers the fault and stops ice production. This code does not trigger an audio alarm, so the only noticeable symptom for most users is that the ice maker stops making ice.

A reset may temporarily clear the displayed fault code, but if the underlying gearbox problem has not been resolved, the error will return once the icemaker attempts another harvest cycle. The root cause must be repaired for the code to stay cleared. Resetting is useful for confirming whether the fault is persistent or was a one-time event.

Repair costs vary depending on what component needs to be replaced.
