F24 means the washer has detected that the water temperature sensor (NTC thermistor) is reading outside its valid range of 23°F to 217°F during the heating step of a wash cycle. The control board cannot confirm a reliable temperature reading, so it stops the cycle and displays the error. This is most commonly caused by a failed sensor or a wiring connection problem.

Disconnecting power will clear the displayed code temporarily, but if the underlying fault in the sensor or wiring has not been corrected, the F24 code will return when the washer reaches the heating phase of the next cycle. A reset is useful for confirming whether a fault is persistent, but it does not repair the problem.

If only the NTC temperature sensor needs replacement, parts typically cost in the range of $15 to $50 depending on the model, making it one of the more affordable washer repairs.
