The nF code means the washer detected a no-fill condition. During the fill phase, the control board expects the water level to rise within 2 minutes of starting, and to reach the target level within 16 minutes total. If either condition is not met, the control stops the cycle and displays nF. This is a protective measure to keep the machine from running without sufficient water.

Resetting the washer by unplugging it for a minute or cycling power may temporarily clear the code, but it will return on the next cycle if the underlying fill problem is not resolved. The code is triggered by a real condition the control board measured, so a reset alone is not a repair. Address the root cause first, then clear the code.

If the fix is simply opening a supply valve or cleaning inlet screens, there is no parts cost involved. A replacement water inlet valve typically costs between $25 and $80 for the part, depending on the model. If a pressure sensor or hose is needed, parts generally range from $15 to $50. Adding professional labor, total repair costs commonly fall between $100 and $250, though this varies by technician and region.

Start by confirming that both the hot and cold water supply valves behind the washer are fully open and that the inlet hoses are not kinked. The washer halts the cycle when nF appears, so it will not complete a wash without adequate water.
