You can continue using the refrigerator in the short term, but the defrost system may not be operating correctly. Over time, frost can accumulate on the evaporator coil, which will reduce cooling efficiency and may eventually cause the refrigerator to stop cooling altogether. Addressing the fault promptly helps prevent food spoilage and further component damage.
