The LE code on a Maytag washer indicates a water level sensor fault, meaning the signal from the pressure switch that monitors water inside the drum is reading outside of its expected range. The washer will beep and pause the cycle when this code appears. The fault can stem from a failed sensor, a kinked pressure hose, wiring issues, or a water supply problem.

A reset may clear the LE code temporarily, but if the underlying fault is still present, the code will return as soon as the washer attempts to fill with water again. To permanently resolve the error, the root cause, whether a faulty sensor, blocked hose, or wiring issue, must be identified and corrected.
