A flashing RINSE indicator on GE value-model dishwashers means the appliance did not receive enough water during the fill cycle. The dishwasher detected that the tub was not filling to the required level, so it stopped the cycle and displayed the alert. This is most often caused by a closed water supply valve, low household water pressure, or a temporary interruption to your home's water service.

Pressing RESET will clear the alert and allow the dishwasher to attempt a new fill cycle, but it will not fix the underlying cause. If the water supply problem has not been corrected before you reset, the error will return when the dishwasher tries to fill again. Always address the supply issue first, then use RESET to restart.

Once the supply issue is resolved, press RESET on the dishwasher and start a new cycle.

The dishwasher has already halted the cycle on its own, so there is no immediate safety hazard. However, you should not attempt to force the cycle to continue without resolving the water supply problem, as running a wash cycle without adequate water can stress the pump and heating element. Resolve the supply issue, reset the unit, and allow it to run normally.
