Jenn-Air Oven Error Code F3E0
Main oven sensor open or shorted (open if temperature above 1112°F/600°C, shorted if below -4°F/-20°C).
Main oven sensor open or shorted (open if temperature above 1112°F/600°C, shorted if below -4°F/-20°C).
First step from the service manual
Unplug oven or disconnect power. Check the sensor probe, cable, and connector (J64 in microwave section, J62 in oven section). Check the whole board connection harness for loose or damaged connections.

What F3E0 means on a Jenn-Air oven
The F3E0 error code on a Jenn-Air oven indicates a fault with the main oven temperature sensor, also called the oven probe or RTD (resistance temperature detector). The control board monitors the sensor's resistance to determine oven temperature. When the board reads a resistance value that corresponds to a temperature above 1112°F (600°C), it interprets the sensor circuit as open (broken circuit). When the reading corresponds to a temperature below -4°F (-20°C), it interprets the circuit as shorted (a direct low-resistance connection that bypasses normal signal range). Neither condition reflects actual oven temperature; instead, they reflect a fault in the sensor itself or the wiring between the sensor and the control board.
The sensor probe is located inside the oven cavity and connects to the control board through a wiring harness. Two key connectors are involved: J64 in the microwave section and J62 in the oven section. A fault can originate at the probe itself, along the cable run, or at either connector. Loose pins, heat-damaged insulation, corrosion at connector terminals, or a physically failed sensor element can all produce an F3E0 condition. Because the harness runs through areas exposed to heat cycling over time, connector degradation is a common contributor alongside outright sensor failure.

Common causes of F3E0
- 01
Failed oven temperature sensor
Part replacementThe sensor probe itself has an open or shorted internal element, producing a resistance value outside the normal operating range. This is the most frequent cause and can be confirmed by measuring the sensor's resistance with a multimeter after disconnecting it from the harness.
- 02
Loose or corroded connector at J62 or J64
Wiring / connectionThe connectors at J62 (oven section) and J64 (microwave section) can develop loose pins or corroded terminals over time, interrupting the sensor signal. Inspect both connectors for discoloration, bent pins, or terminals that do not seat firmly.
- 03
Damaged sensor wiring or cable
Part replacementThe cable running from the sensor probe to the control board can suffer insulation damage from heat exposure, resulting in a short or open circuit along the run. Visually inspect the full cable length for melted, pinched, or chafed insulation.
- 04
Loose connection at the main board harness
Wiring / connectionA loose or improperly seated harness connector at the control board can cause the same open or short symptoms as a failed sensor. Check all board-side connectors for secure seating before assuming the sensor has failed.
- 05
Faulty control board
Part replacementIf the sensor and all wiring check out correctly, the control board itself may be misreading the sensor signal due to a failed input circuit. This is the least common cause and should only be considered after ruling out the sensor and harness.
