E14 indicates a fault in the dispenser drawer reed switch circuit, meaning the washer cannot confirm the drawer is properly closed. The machine uses a magnet on the drawer and a reed switch on the body to detect drawer position. When that circuit is interrupted, the control board logs E14 and may halt the cycle. The fault can stem from an open drawer, a missing magnet, a failed switch, or a wiring problem.

Running the washer while E14 is active is generally not recommended. The error indicates the machine cannot confirm the dispenser drawer is properly closed, and operating with a partially open drawer could allow water or detergent to escape from the dispenser area. It is best to resolve the fault before continuing to use the appliance.

If the issue is simply a drawer that was not fully closed, there is no cost involved. Replacing a dislodged or missing drawer magnet is typically a low-cost fix, generally in the range of a few dollars to around twenty dollars for the part. A reed switch replacement may cost between fifteen and fifty dollars for the part, with additional labor costs if a technician is required. If the control board is at fault, repair costs will be considerably higher, often ranging from one hundred fifty to three hundred fifty dollars or more depending on parts and labor.
