What EC0 means on a Electrolux washer
The EC0 error code on an Electrolux washer indicates that the inlet valve is blocked and the flow meter is receiving no signal despite the electro valves being energized. In a properly functioning system, when the control board activates the inlet valve solenoids, water flows through the valve assembly and passes a flow meter (also called a turbine or flow sensor). This sensor generates a pulse signal that the control board reads to confirm water is entering the drum. When the board commands the valves to open but receives zero pulses from the flow meter, it triggers EC0 and halts the cycle to prevent a dry-run condition.
The most common root cause is a physically blocked or failed inlet valve. Sediment, scale buildup, or a foreign object can obstruct the valve screens or internal passages, preventing water from passing through even when the solenoids are activated. A solenoid coil failure within the valve assembly can also produce this condition, where the valve appears to receive power but the internal diaphragm never opens. In some cases the supply water pressure may be too low to actuate the valve mechanism, though the fault most directly points to the valve itself.
If the inlet valve is confirmed to be functional and unobstructed, the fault may originate in the electronic control board. A failed board may be incapable of properly energizing the valve solenoids, or it may fail to correctly read and interpret the flow meter signal even when pulses are being generated. The diagnostic approach outlined for this code follows that logic: replace the inlet valve first, then replace the electronic control board if the error persists.

Common causes of EC0
- 01
Blocked inlet valve screens or passages
Wiring / connectionMineral deposits, sediment, or debris can clog the inlet valve screens and internal passages, preventing water from flowing even when the solenoid is activated. Remove and inspect the valve screens for buildup or obstruction.
- 02
Failed inlet valve solenoid
Part replacementOne or more solenoid coils inside the inlet valve assembly may have burned out, preventing the valve diaphragm from opening. This requires replacing the complete inlet valve assembly.
- 03
Faulty or obstructed flow meter
Part replacementThe flow meter turbine can become clogged with debris or fail electrically, causing it to produce no signal even when water is flowing. Inspect the flow meter for physical blockage and verify its electrical output.
- 04
Insufficient water supply pressure
Wiring / connectionIf the household water supply pressure is too low, the inlet valve diaphragm may not open fully, resulting in no detectable flow. Check that the supply hose shutoff valves are fully open and that water pressure at the connection point is adequate.
- 05
Failed electronic control board
Part replacementIf the inlet valve and flow meter both test as functional, the control board may be failing to properly energize the valve solenoids or interpret the flow meter signal. Replacing the control board is the final diagnostic step for this fault.
