Electrolux Washer Error Code EE1

EE1 indicates a fan current trip failure caused by a hardware problem on the power module. The fault is triggered when the fan circuit draws current immediately above 2.5 amps. The power module shuts down the fan circuit as a protective response. This fault requires diagnosis of the fan, its wiring, and potentially the power module or fan control board.

You should not continue running the washer while the EE1 fault is active. The error indicates the power module has detected an overcurrent condition and tripped as a safety measure. Running the machine without resolving the underlying cause risks further damage to the power module, control board, or wiring.

A reset may temporarily clear the EE1 code from the display, but the fault will return as soon as the fan circuit is powered and the overcurrent condition is still present. Because EE1 reflects a hardware-level detection, the underlying cause must be repaired before the code will stay clear. Repeatedly resetting without repair will not resolve the problem.

Some causes, such as a physical obstruction blocking the fan blade, can be cleared without specialized tools or replacement parts. However, diagnosing a shorted wiring harness, failed fan motor, or faulty control board requires multimeter testing and comfort working around electrical components. If you are not experienced with appliance electrical repair, a qualified technician should handle this fault.
