Error code 73 means the dryer's control board is detecting an open circuit on the NTC2 temperature sensor. NTC2 is a thermistor that monitors temperature during the drying cycle, and an open condition means the board is receiving no signal from it. This can be caused by a disconnected wire, a failed sensor, or in less common cases, a fault on the main control board itself. The dryer will not operate normally until the fault is resolved.

You should not continue using the dryer while error code 73 is active. The NTC2 sensor is part of the thermal monitoring system that prevents overheating, and operating without a functioning sensor removes an important safety protection. Running the dryer in this condition could lead to excessive heat buildup or damage to other components.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code display, but the code will return as soon as the dryer attempts to read the NTC2 sensor again and finds the circuit still open. Resetting does not repair a faulty sensor, broken wire, or disconnected connector. The underlying fault must be diagnosed and corrected before the error will stay cleared permanently.
